The short answer: laser hair removal on the face is a matter of a few minutes — an upper lip or a chin takes under five. Because the minimum order is ₪250 for a 15-minute window, most people combine several facial areas into the same visit.
What counts as “the face”
The common areas are the upper lip, chin, jawline and cheeks. Sometimes the front of the neck joins in, as a natural continuation of the jawline.
Each one is very small, so the practical question is not “what does an upper lip cost” but what else fits into the same visit. The ₪250 minimum covers a quarter of an hour, and an upper lip on its own does not use it. Get an estimate for your combination in the calculator, and the full table on the price list.
Why the face comes back sooner
Facial hair grows faster than in most body areas, so the gap between treatments tends to be shorter. The structure of the series stays the same — three stages and about 12 treatments — but the pace is set by what is actually seen. More on the gaps, and on what happens if you are late, in the interval guide.
Hormones — the part worth saying up front
Hair on the chin, cheeks and jawline is affected by hormones more than any other area. Conditions such as PCOS, a change in contraception, giving birth or menopause can bring growth back even after a successful series.
That is not a failure of the treatment — it is the body that changed. In those cases you return to short maintenance rather than a full series from the beginning. We say that before we start, not after.
White and light hair — the real limitation
The laser targets the melanin in the root. A white hair has no melanin — so it does not respond. On the chin and cheeks that matters especially, because white hairs appear there earlier.
Light or vellus hair responds partially. The 940 nm wavelength is intended precisely for finer hair, but it does not work miracles. This is checked with a dermatoscope at the assessment, before anyone sells you a series.
For men: shaping or removing
Most men who come for the facial area do not want to remove a beard — they want a clean line: a neck that does not itch, a defined cheek line, or to stop the beard at a fixed place. That is possible — the boundary is marked exactly at the assessment, and only below it is treated.
Worth knowing: what is removed does not come back to how it was. So on a beard we go slowly, and confirm the line again at every session.
What is different about facial skin
The skin is thinner, exposed to the sun every day, and has things applied to it that are not applied elsewhere. So on the face we work with a small dedicated head that allows precise work around the lip and nose, and with continuous cooling.
On the face we are also extra careful with intensity and build up gradually. One more treatment is better than an unnecessary risk in the most visible place there is.
Before a facial treatment — three things that differ from the body
Active products. Retin-A is stopped two weeks before, and anyone taking or having taken Roaccutane in the last six months reports it at the assessment. These appear on the health declaration filled in here.
Cold sores. Anyone with recurring herpes around the mouth needs to say so before an upper-lip treatment. It does not rule you out automatically — it changes how we proceed.
Make-up and creams. On the day of the treatment you arrive with a completely clean face — no make-up, no cream and no sunscreen. All the detail is in the before & after guide.
Questions that keep coming up
How much does upper-lip hair removal cost?
An upper lip on its own takes under five minutes. Because the minimum order is ₪250 for 15 minutes, it is worth adding a chin or a jawline to the same visit — it fits in the same window and at the same price.
Does it hurt more on the face?
The skin is more sensitive, but the area is small and over quickly. What changes the sensation is the continuous cooling running at the very moment the energy goes in.
Can you wear make-up afterwards?
Better to wait. In the first days it is better not to load the skin with products; the full instructions are in the before & after guide.
I have a few single hairs on my chin — is it worth treating?
At the assessment we check the colour of the hairs. Dark hairs respond well; white ones do not. If most of them are white — we will say so and not sell you a series.
From what age do you treat?
From 18 and up. Younger than that, hair is still affected by hormonal change, and on the face that is especially true.
Want to check whether your hair responds before you decide? The trial session includes a dermatoscope assessment.
